In my 20+ years as a therapist in Seattle, I’ve worked with many, many tech workers. I understand the jargon, the cultural differences between the big companies, and the specific pressures of these jobs. I’ve worked with people from junior IC’s up to high-level leaders. I find the shared language and background can help a lot in our work together, especially if your issues are work-related.
I’ve worked with engineers, PMs, managers and executives from:
- Amazon
- Microsoft
- Startups
- IT in non-tech companies
A big reason people come to me is because I had a career in tech before becoming a therapist. I started out with a Bachelor’s degree in IS, worked for IBM and other large companies from 1988-2003, and also earned a Masters of Science in Telecommunication. I bring that real-life experience into the room as your therapist. I’ve been hired, promoted, laid off, and moved companies. I’ve seen booms and busts. I endured some bad bosses, had a couple mediocre managers, and appreciated the few great ones.
With my tech clients, we often discuss:
- Career direction
- “Perf and Promo”
- Communication & Work Relationships
- Layoffs
- Work Stress
- Work/Life Balance
- Being More Effective at Work
Of course, we can and do talk about more than work! But it’s a big part of our lives. I’d love to assist you with your work and your life.
